| 3 | Notes for Serial Item No. 1 & 2 above:
(a) The rate quoted shall be deemed to be inclusive of supply and fixing/replacement of all mechanical, electrical, and electronic spares required for proper functioning of the lifts, such as push buttons, door rollers, guide shoes, brake coils, limit switches, door couplers, alarm units, position-indicating lights, auxiliary contactors, LED lights, relays, cabin fans, control transformers, control fuses, and similar components, including all consumables such as lubricating oil, grease, cleaning materials, and other incidental items necessary for comprehensive maintenance.
(b) All safety devices and systems, including Automatic Rescue Devices (ARDs), shall be maintained in fully operational and serviceable condition round the clock throughout the contract period. No additional payment shall be admissible on this account. However, batteries shall be measured and paid separately under relevant items of BOQ on a Supply Only basis, as and when required.
(c) Spares covered under Serial Item Nos. 3 to 51 of the BOQ shall be measured and paid separately on a Supply Only basis, as and when required. The rate quoted against Serial Item No. 1 shall exclude the cost of these spares. However, installation, fixing, dismantling, adjustment, repairs, and all associated labour charges for these items shall be deemed to be included in the rate quoted for Serial Item Nos. 1 & 2. | | |
| 4 | (d) Emergency lighting arrangements and all essential tools shall be maintained in proper working condition and kept available in a designated toolbox during each shift to ensure uninterrupted and efficient lift operation.
(e) The contractor shall provide adequate conveyance and communication facilities, such as two-wheelers and mobile phones, to all lift technicians to ensure prompt attendance and effective service delivery.
(f) The contractor shall comply with all applicable and prevailing labour laws, rules, and regulations, including their latest amendments.
(g) Wages paid to personnel deployed under the contract shall not be less than the minimum wages notified by the State Government or the Central Government from time to time, whichever is higher.
(h) The contractor shall be responsible for making all statutory contributions and subscriptions towards Insurance, EPF, ESI, Labour Welfare Cess, and any other applicable levies. The contractor shall also pay Gratuity, Bonus, and other statutory benefits to the workmen as per existing Labour Rules, Acts, and Regulations. The rates quoted shall be deemed to be inclusive of all such statutory liabilities.
(j) DRESS CODE: The contractor shall provide all deployed workmen with a uniform (formal pant and T-shirt) bearing printed/embroidered details showing the Name of the Firm and Designation on the front and GE [U-I] [V] on the back of the T-shirt. Suitable protective clothing and safety gear shall also be provided. Safety shoes shall be mandatorily issued to all personnel, and no person shall be permitted to enter the work site without wearing proper safety shoes. | | |
| 5 | (k) The contractor shall be solely responsible for any accidents or injuries sustained by the workmen during the execution of the contract. In the event of minor or fatal injury, partial disability, or any untoward incident arising due to non-adherence to safety regulations, IE Rules, improper maintenance of lift systems/safety mechanisms, mishandling, incorrect operation, lack of safety knowledge, or any other circumstances whatsoever, the contractor shall settle all compensation claims. In case of failure to do so, the Department reserves the right to recover the amount as determined by the Labour Commissioner/Court of Law from any dues payable to the contractor. No claim shall be entertained against the Department in this regard, and no compensation shall be payable by the Department. The contractor shall also provide and maintain adequate first-aid boxes to meet emergency situations.
(l) The contractor shall carry out periodic inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and overhauling, as and when required, of all mechanical and electrical components of the lifts, including electric motors, gear units, door drives, controllers, pulleys, limit switches, relays, and allied equipment, complete in accordance with the manufacturer s recommendations and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. All safety systems, including ARDs, shall be maintained in serviceable condition round the clock, and the cost of associated spares, batteries, and components shall be deemed to be included in the quoted rates. No extra payment shall be made on this account.
(m) The rate quoted shall be deemed to be inclusive of cleaning of the lift cabin, sills, machine room, COPs, LOPs, and all associated lift areas. Cleaning shall be carried out twice daily, once in each shift, to maintain the lift premises clean, neat, tidy, and to ensure smooth functioning of the lift system.
(n) The lift technician shall be stationed at a central location between the group of five (5) lifts serving the nearby buildings to facilitate prompt access and monitoring. The technician shall visit and inspect each lift at intervals not exceeding thirty (30) minutes to check and ensure that the lifts are operating properly and safely at all times. | | |
